WEYBURN SASKATCHEWAN

The SEREDA Legacy Fund

The South East REDA is pleased to announce the development of a new Legacy Fund that will be available to all former members of the South East REDA.  The reason for establishing this fund was to return a source of funding for projects to former SEREDA members.  SEREDA has allocated $35,000.00 to this fund with a preference for such things as business development, feasibility studies, project promotion, strategic planning, and training.  Applications will be reviewed and decided on by a board committee on a first come first serve basis. Once the total fund has been allocated, no further applications will be accepted.   The Legacy Fund Committee reserves the right to adjust amounts at fiscal year end.

The Legacy Fund is open to all municipalities or organizations that were paid SEREDA Members in 2008/2009, and the organizations that are located within them.  We will not accept applications from private business. All projects should be community based.

Application Process

Applicants must submit a written proposal for funding to the South East REDA.  The proposal should contain information relevant to the project including such things as costs, scope of work, timelines, etc.  Approved applicants will be notified in writing by SEREDA and then must submit copies of work performed, paid invoices, cancelled cheques, or receipts to the South East REDA for reimbursement following completion of the plan.

Who is Eligible?

All municipal applicants must be a 2008/09 paid member of the South East REDA in order to be eligible for funding.  Projects that are community based and not directly affiliated with a municipality must be located or have their headquarters located within a municipality who was a paid member in the 2008/09 fiscal year.  They must also have a letter of support from their local municipal government.  All projects must be community based; private businesses are not eligible for funding.

Project Approval

All eligible projects must be approved by the South East REDA - Legacy Fund Committee.  Projects will be approved on a first come, first serve basis, at the discretion of the SEREDA - Legacy Fund Committee.  Once the available project funds are all allocated the program will end. Projects or activities completed prior to application approval are not eligible for funding. Eligible projects must be approved prior to completion.  This Fund cannot be used to access or “piggy back” other Federal and Provincial Grants.  Once again, the South East REDA Legacy Fund Committee will make the final decision on all applications.
