Village of Fillmore

Fillmore’s name originates from a landowner from whom the Canadian Pacific (CP) secured station grounds.  In 1901 the first settler came to this community; his name was Alex MacLean.  On November 9, 1904 the railway from Stoughton to Regina was in operation and at that time was the longest piece of straight track in the world.  In later years, it was known as the longest straight track in North America.  This piece of track is still in use today.

Fillmore to Weyburn = 54 km
Fillmore to Regina = 106 km
