Weyburn is home to Nexans Canada Inc., formally Alcatel, which manufactures wire and cable.  Recently, the Nexans plant had a 20 million dollar expansion that created a considerable amount of new job opportunities for the plant.  The plant manufactures goods for Canada and has recently expanded sales to the United States.

The region is also home to NorAmera BioEnergy, which is only the 2nd Ethanol Plant created in the provinces.  This plant produces 25 million litres of ethanol per year and uses around 67,000 tonnes of wheat annually to produce ethanol.  This plant created approximately 20 new jobs.

In addition to this, the region has numerous small manufacturers of agriculture equipment, houses, building products and more!
