Village of Torquay

Torquay has an abundant water supply and was named after the English town “Torquay” which is located beside the English Cannel.  Torquay was incorporated as a Village in December 1923.  1st Council meeting was held January 9, 1924.  Settlers moved into the area as early as 1902, with a large movement in 1905.  All came to locate and file on homestead land as explained in “Our Prairie Heritage – Cambria 1902 – 1977”.  Torquay is a peaceful, affordable and a great place to raise children.  The community is close enough to Weyburn and Estevan, but far enough to enjoy a slower paced lifestyle.

Torquay to Weyburn = 70 km
Torquay to Estevan = 40 km
Torquay to Regina = 190 km
